Brookhaven's Seminar Snapshots "Cognitive-communicative skills after traumatic brain injury" Presenter: Lori Davis, Ed.D., CCC-SLP Date: September 5th, 2007 Synopsis: Dr. Davis' program discussed the types of cognitive- communicative disorders occurring after brain injury and the ways in which those disorders impact an individual’s interaction in functional contexts. The presentation also discussed the role of the speech-language pathologist in a team approach to rehabilitation and methods of assessment and intervention. Strategies for other rehabilitation professionals to use when working with these individuals were a focal point of Dr. Davis' presentation.. Goals: 1.
